DECEMBER 2008 HIGHLIGHTS

Here are the highlights of the dice added in DECEMBER 2008

EVENTS OF PARTICULAR NOTE

If you have not seen THAC0 - The Movie ... I highly recommend it

I finally got around to adding a CONVENTIONS page ... to display the photos and movies taken at various conventions

A WANT page was added this month for those wishing to trade with me

(or for those looking for a gift for me :)

Added a CONTACT page (and removed the previous email links) to explain a few things about the website and hopefully head off some questions

At the request of a fellow dice collector ... with whom I converse regularly via IM .... I added line numbers and column letters to each of the program generated pages ... NEWEST being the most noteable

If you wish to reference a photo ... It is always best to supply a URL for a photo ... rather than a column and row ... as these will change on a regular basis

Another request from the same collector was Monthly Statistics ... I found it interesting that JULY is the biggest month for acquiring dice

I forgot to mention (in previous months) ... that the Q-Workshop 2008 dice design contest concluded and the winner was Shannon Coutuer ... HERE are the details of her win

I moved the collection to a much more stable ... and larger set of shelves this month ... this should give me a good bit more room to expand

The cost paid for the collection crossed $50K US this month

I should be hitting the next milestone for the collection ... next month ... any suggestions for the 26000th die?

	CHALKTALK SPORTS released two more sets of sports dice this month


	Thanks to a watchful collector and Barnes and Noble a new brand theme was added DISCOVERY BAY GAMES There is at least one more die on its way from this fine manufacturer


	These took me quite a while to hunt down ... and also resulted in a new brand theme PAUL LAMOND GAMES

	It seems I missed the Peanuts Halloween Yahtzee when it was released but once again thanks to BN.COM ... I found a set It seems that USAOPOLY is cranking out these things almost on a monthly basis

	These are custom dice made by another fellow collector

	The addition of these Aluminum dice also resulted in a new brand theme JETCO There are more dice forthcoming from this vendor
DAYS OF WONDER released these dice this month
	These dice were also hard to acquire I am surprised given the popularity of RISK in the US
FLAMES OF WAR is becoming like USAOPOLY as they are releasing new dice nearly every month
	These were a rare find as JON WEBER MANUFACTORY has been out of business for years
These dice are from a new game inventor Squareshooters.com
		For you Descent fans out there FANTASY FLIGHT GAMES released these new dice this month


I made these dice from the Q-Workshop dice design contest thread the upper left die didnt win ... but I liked it so much I had to embody it the upper right die is just one of the dice from the winning set
